For the past few weeks, I have had a big coffee table style book on my desk at work called Library Architecture + Design. There are some fantastic designs in there, so I thought I would share my favourites (you’re better off checking out the websites, since the copy in the book is really poorly edited) - Chilean National Library, Founders Hall (it’s like a study room hovercraft!!!)
- Kazakhstan National Library
- The Scholar’s Library in Olive Bridge, New York
- Book Mountain in Spijkenissse, the Netherlands (my team agreed we are re-designing CA to look like this!)
One of only 2 Canadian choices was Bloor/Gladstone Branch, TPL, but I much prefer the reno at St Clair-Dufferin.
