Hey, did anyone just notice that gifted children's book author Shaun Tan (just get off yer couch and read The Arrival already...) just won an Oscar? How cool is that? I actually clapped out loud.

I found your referral to Shaun Tan as "gifted" kind of odd, until I did a quick internet search and see that most of his press refers to him as gifted. Why? Aside from his having been in a "gifted" program... (I'm assuming the "Gifted Artist" title of his blog is kind of taking piss the out of his constantly being referred to as a "gifted artist"... or maybe he really does think of himself as gifted......)
